Microsoft optimistic as e-Jewelry software shines at the 2010 JCK
Las Vegas, NV (June 14, 2010, 3:00am PST) - Jewelers attending the JCK show held in early June got an inside look at Microsoft Dynamics NAV's e-Jewelry Software, a complete enterprise resource planning (ERP) inventory system that was warmly received at the Las Vegas event, according to Microsoft.

On the eve of JCK 2010, bridal and jewelry manufacturer Tacori struck a deal to work with software developer and Microsoft partner Business Computing  to implement the e-Jewelry Software program. According to Microsoft, the move will centralize Tacori's operation into one database, helping the company to keep track of its various departments simultaneously and in real time.

In addition to being a complete ERP inventory system, e-Jewelry Software can also be used for order/memo processing, job tracking and financial management.

In a media release announcing the Tacori partnership, Mike Joukhajian, president and chief executive officer of Business Computing, emphasized the multifunctionality of e-Jewelry Software, saying it is particularly relevant to jewelry wholesalers.

"Not everyone needs just a financial solution or just a jewelry solution only; instead, it's about inventory management, accurate data, efficient management and reliable technical  support," he said in the release.

Another jewelry manufacturer to sign on recently is North Carolina-based Starcraft Diamonds. The company is currently phasing out an old UNIX system, and expects to fully implement the e-Jewelry Software by late 2010.

Additional industry players using e-Jewelry Software include Baguette World, Chad Allison, Coast Diamonds, GN Diamonds, Marsala Manufacturing, Royal Chain, S.A. Kitsinian, Simon G and more.

Handcrafted in California, these remarkably detailed rings and fine jewelry pieces become the timeless symbols of connection that join individuals and generations.

The Pain and the Challenge
Tacori was frustrated with their current software for many reasons. They never received a complete training on how to use the program in the first place and what its actual capabilities were.  They had to do their own research to find what their options were.  Updates and/or customizations are never tested and checked by programmers at the current software if they work properly before deploying them. The solution is based on an old and outdated FoxPro platform. It’s not a "TRUE" ERP solution. It’s simply a customized application that that was written for that purpose only. The financials were later added in it in order to try and give it an appearance of an ERP solution. The result is a cumbersome way of trying to pull data from one database in an environment of forced, questionable and technologically challenged and un-natural integration.

The Solution
Microsoft Dynamics NAV e-Jewelry Software for financials, manufacturing, distribution, inventory control, product management, sales & marketing and jewelry functions will now handle the entire Tacori’s operation. Business Computing will provide Microsoft Dynamics NAV and e-Jewelry Software solution for Tacori Enterprises, Inc.  This includes 40 user licenses for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and 40 licenses for e-Jewelry Component, Enhancement support for all the software, and consulting services for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and e-Jewelry Component including Analysis, Design, Development, Deployment, Operation, and Project Management. Included in the scope of the project is several ISV add-on software. This includes the implementation of Lanham EDI & E-Ship, RFID Technology, Jet Reports & BarTender Bar-coding Software.

The Value
A financial investment in US Dollars for Microsoft software, 3rd party software & partner services was measured carefully. Tacori Enterprises, Inc. intends in the coming years to stay ahead of the competition by optimizing business practices with the latest in computer software technology.  This optimization will enable Tacori Enterprises, Inc. to continue to provide their clients with a high level of service while establishing a solid base to take advantage of improvements in the ever changing world of technology.

The Competition

After reviewing several software developers and vendors across the country, Tacori chose Business Computing for a reason. Business Computing follow-up calls and e-mails as well as critical reminders to Tacori Executives about the need for them to deploy a new jewelry ERP system with an unmatched ROI was the key to winning the contract. When e-Jewelry was compared to Tacori’s old FoxPro-based software, there was no competition. Tacori was comfortable with Business Computing honest and upfront approach toward software selection and implementation including discussions on successes and failures of such projects.

Another Reputable Jeweler (Starcraft Diamonds) Joins the e-Jewelry Family!
Washington, NC USA (April 16, 2010, 9:00am) PST— Business Computing and Microsoft are proud to welcome yet another reputable jeweler - Starcraft Diamonds, Inc. in the growing family of Microsoft Dynamics NAV e-Jewelry Software's satisfied customers. Starcraft will implemented-Jewelry software as their primary jewelry business management solution effective immediately.

e-Jewelry Software is the complete ERP inventory, order/memo processing, job tracking and financial management system designed for Jewelry manufacturers, importers & wholesalers

The Challenge:
Starcraft wanted to replace their old UNIX system and an array of an “Island of software” with one ERP solution but with complete jewelry functionality. The UNIX systems had been reduced into just an accosting system with no jewelry functionality whatsoever, forcing Starcraft to perform many factions manually. Finding a solution was once thing but there were still some questions about transferring all that data from the dinosaur’s system to Dynamics NAV database. Starcraft did not want to run two systems at the same time until their accounts receivables run out in the old system. They wanted to move the data and be done with it. After looking into several packages from competitors across the country, they chose Business Computing because of its expertise in the jewelry industry, experience and a proven solution.

The solution:
Business Computing Microsoft Dynamics NAV e-Jewelry Software will replace all that nightmare with one solution, complete with financials to keep track of general ledger and its associated functions and also provide jewelry functionality through a new and a faster automated way to track inventory through RFID technology, process sales orders, process job envelopes and run memos among other things, all from just one integrated solution.

Business Computing Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing Mr. Emanuel Samuel said companies with software packages written in languages from the 1990s are ‘virtually’ lined-up outside Business Computing doors to replace their old systems with e-Jewelry. “We are selling several systems every month lately as the word keep spreading to jewelers that our solution truly works,” added Mr. Samuel.

Mr. Samuel said some of the most successful jewelry companies in North America (small and large) such as Simon G Jewelry, GN Diamonds, S.A. Kitsinian, Chad Allison Design, IBB, Roberto Martinez, LDM Company, The Royal Chain Group, Coast Diamonds, Baguette World and several others are all using e-Jewelry software from Microsoft.

Minnesota’s LDM Company chooses e-Jewelry Software from Microsoft!

Minneapolis, MN, USA (February 26, 2010, 6:00pm PST) —Golden Valley’s jeweler LDM Company has joined a growing family of Microsoft Dynamics NAV e-Jewelry software satisfied customers being supported by software developer and Microsoft partner - Business Computing, Inc. of Los Angeles California. LDM will implemented-Jewelry software as their primary jewelry business management solution effective immediately. e-Jewelry Software is the complete ERP inventory, order/memo processing, job tracking and financial management system designed for Jewelry manufacturers, importers & wholesalers.

LDM looked at a wide range of software solutions out there and hired a consultant to determine the right way to go. What makes this particular investment for LDM crucial is the fact that LDM is a mid-size company. According to a number of researches commissioned by Microsoft and other ERP developers, mid-size companies tend to shy away from major investments when it comes to comprehensive software solutions citing pricing as a deal breaker.

In an interview to be released later for the National Jeweler Network from Minneapolis on Friday, February 26, 2010, President & CEO of Business Computing, Inc. Mike Joukhajian addressed the fear of pricing squarely buy clearly stating that the unmatched return on investment (ROI) when it comes to Microsoft Dynamics NAV puts away all the misrepresentations and suggestions that ERP systems are made for large companies only. He said small jewelry specific non ERP solutions now crowding the internet as well as custom made systems that mimic outdated programs to try and duplicate customer’s requirements by attempting to integrate “a jewelry system” with existing accounting system takes time, costs money and offers no guarantee of success. “That was being done in the 90’s,” he pointed out. With Microsoft now introducing it’s BE (Business Essentials) version of its flagship Navision software for small and mid-size businesses, many jewelers can now afford to install and use a true jewelry specific ERP system like e-Jewelry.

Mr. Joukhajian said some of the most successful jewelry companies in North America (small and large) such as Simon G, GN Diamonds, S.A. Kitsinian, Chad Allison Design, IBB, Roberto Martinez, Coast Diamonds, Baguette World and several others are all using e-Jewelry software from Microsoft.

Royal Chain, Inc. and Marsala (Marfo) Manufacturing to implement e-Jewelry Software from Microsoft.
Las Vegas, NV, USA (June 12, 2009) -After a nationwide search from several software developers, New York jeweler Royal Chain, Inc., has decided to partner with software developer and Microsoft partner - Business Computing Systems, Inc. of Los Angeles to implement the Microsoft Dynamics NAV e-Jewelry Software as their primary jewelry businessmanagement solution, a Microsoft Partner Account Manager (PAM) for Southern California announced here in Las Vegas.

Commenting on the Royal Chains and Marfo deals, the President & CEO of Business Computing Systems Mike Joukhajian pointed out that as the economy continues to slowdown, companies are looking for ways to cut cost and improve productivity. He believes that e-Jewelry build upon Microsoft Dynamics will help companies to automate manual processes , monitor inventory levels, improve cash flow and improve customer relationships by having fast access to accurate information.
